All of the paintings in this section arise from the artist's personal experiences in the field. Many of the artist's smaller watercolors are produced on location, while he observes the subject firsthand. Larger watercolors and oils are developed in the studio from sketches and studies done from life. (See sketchbook for a sampling of the artists field studies.)
