"Most people associate robins with suburban lawns, but they are equally at home in woodlands and swamps. Here, a mated pair pauses amid the shadblow at the egde of the forest. The rush of the nesting season has begun and by summer's end this pair may have produced as many as three broods of young.
In Robins and Shadbush, I wanted to create an open, assymetrical design. I used the shad blossoms to create depth and form a pattern that keeps the eye moving around the picture."
